Solas Unveiling

On the 9th of September 2026 we unveiled Solas, Ireland's first solar powered race car.

We invited our sponsors, friends, families and long time supporters of the project at the Helix in Dublin to see the final version of our car.

Our car aeroshell and monocoque are fully made from carbon fibre to reduce the overall weight of the car and reduce performance on track.

The car livery pays homage to the Eddie Jordan 191 car livery. Eddie Jordan is an immense inspiration to the team as a legend in Irish F1. His fighting spirit and reluctance to be diminished by begrudgers is something that we want to embody in everything we do.

Keith O'Loughlin, a close personal friend of Eddie's and co-founder of the Eddie Jordan Foundation (osclaítear i gcluaisín nua é) spoke at our event about the legacy Eddie left behind and how the foundation always wants to support young people's bold ideas.

We had the pleasure of having the President of DCU, Daire Keogh speak at our event about what our project means for the university and the potential of young people in Ireland.

PJ Hough a long time supporter of our project, spoke about his involvement in F1 and how we can emulate the spirit and professionalism of F1 in solar racing.

We showcased our work and bring them along on the journey of what it took us to bring this project from dream to reality. Four years in the making, Ireland's first solar car is now reality.

This is the start of an incredibly exciting future in Irish sustainable innovation.
